Corruptions stores each token's insight counter in contract storage (SSTORE) and generates the artwork on chain from the token id and that counter. tokenURI is served by a metadata contract the token contract points to, which draws the image in the contract and returns it as an SVG data URI. Tokens may also carry an animation_url pointing at an off-chain viewer the image does not depend on.
