The 0xmons contract stores no art: tokenURI points to a server-based metadata pointing to images stored on IPFS. Owners can encode a monster through a separate MonImageRegistry contract (deployed by the same deployer wallet). The GIF with its name and lore goes into calldata as an uploadMon() transaction and the registry records that transaction hash per token; the registry also accepts the static GIF payload itself, written into contract storage (SSTORE). Encoding is opt-in, and an external script is necessary to render it.
